All members of T.E.I. of Central Macedonia have the right to an email account of the form firstname.lastname@example.org for sending and receiving emails using the email server of the Institute.
Students can activate their email account by themselves visiting the webpage http://emailactivation.teicm.gr and providing the username and password information of their Electronic Secretariat account.
Alternatively, they can visit the site of WebMail http://mail.teicm.gr and click on the “Account activation” link.
Teachers can also activate their email account by themselves visiting the webpage http://emailactivation.teicm.gr as long as they have an Electronic Secretariat account.
Teachers and the rest of the personnel without an Electronic Secretariat account must contact the Network Operating Center where they have to fill out the necessary application form.
Access to the service can be done using either POP3 or IMAP protocol or via WebMail.
POP3 and IMAP
An email client program can connect to the mail server of the T.E.I. of Central Macedonia using either the POP3 or IMAP protocol. Setting up an email client program both “Incoming mail server” and “Outgoing mail server” fields must be filled with the name of the “mail.teicm.gr” server. You must also select the checkbox “My server requires authentication” on the servers tab for the sending of emails to be possible.
The email service can be also accessed using only a Web browser (WebMail). There is no need to install client email software of any kind. The address for accessing the WebMail is http://mail.teicm.gr.
